Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy

I find gel nail polish/varnish to be somewhat of a hit and miss. Whilst some are amazing some can be a right fiddle to get on board with...

Take for instance, the Barry M 'Gelly Shine.' I had two shades of them, thought I could make them work and eventually tossed them out. Too thick, too gloopy and just a fail for me. Which is a shame, loads of people adore them for good reason, they are cheap and come in loads of colours. I just couldn't deal with the gloop!

My first real success stories were with the Seventeen Gel Colour and the Maybelline Color Show ranges. Both amazing to work with, last a freakish amount of time and again, lots of lovely colours.

So naturally when Revlon brought out the ColorStay Gel Envy polishes I was a little dubious but naturally a few shades caught my interest. To play it safe, I just picked up the one shade 440 called 'Wild Card.' Its a cobalt blue, for sure but it looks more of a cornflower blue cobalt (if that makes any sense what so ever,) so an excellent colour year round but particularly pretty in summer.

I kind of wish I'd picked up a few more, because it's pretty blooming good. It has a medium sized brush - not too wide (I get a bit careless and cocky with a bigger brush,) or too small and in two coats it's opaque. Done. It's not gloopy, doesn't go streaky and has a really amazing shine to it, especially when paired with Seche Vite top coat.

So far this has lasted six days before chips began to appear and even then very minutely - so a really great option if you like to settle down on a Sunday like me and paint them (and hope, pray) that they last the week until the next go.

Overall, a pretty great gel polish for £6.99.

Have you tried the ColorStay Gel Envy polishes?

Sophie.
