I find gel nail polish/varnish to be somewhat of a hit and miss. Whilst some are amazing some can be a right fiddle to get on board with...

WISHLIST
Sandals // Necklace // Illuminator // Terrarium // Bed Socks
I swear to god that every summer I look at all the new sandals that come out but all I really want/need is a simple tan pair. And every year leaves me a little disappointed that I can't find the pair. So far, this H&M pair look good but still not quite what I'm after. I'm really quite fussy with my sandals that I like a sling back, preferably elasticated because a.) I'm lazy and b.) it's way more comfortable.
I've even considered Birkenstocks but I have a suspicion I'm really not 'cool' enough to pull them off.
After running out of this little gem, I've been meaning to pick up the Revlon PhotoReady SkinLights Illuminator. In peach or bronze, as I tend to use these products mixed with a primer. I just couldn't buy another of the no7 version, even though I frickin' love it - the brush at the end just makes everything so very dried up and just plain unhygienic. If it changed to just a tube? I'd buy all the stock. All of it.
Another thing I've been hankering over is bed socks. I know, we are coming into spring (its still pretty cold, I kind of feel we are still in winter, by the way,) but I need some new ones and a cheeky order may have been placed. I just can't stand having freezing cold feet. Bring on summer (in which I complain that I am too hot, yay!)
Since breaking two of my planters for my cacti (one a terrarium, one a fishbowl style) I've been lurking the UO website as they have some reasonably priced ones on there that look amazing. But honestly, we are all so clumsy that I feel maybe I should just keep my poor cacti and succulents in the "emergency housing" pyrex glass roasting dish they are currently in (I'm not even kidding. Nope.)
Lastly. Turquoise. ALL THE TURQUOISE. Maybe I'm biased because it's my birthstone or whatever, but my god - turquoise with gold is just it for me. I need all the rings and necklaces, cheers.
What's on your wishlist?
Sophie.

What's On My Face #3
Okay. I'll be the first to admit. I am a sucker for getting stuck in a rut. However, this is like the fail-safe. The I-Honestly-Won't-Be-Longer-Than-Five Face. Gotta go to appointments and look half-way respectable face. You get it. We've all got one.

What's On My Face #2
For the most part, I either work one or three ways with my make up for during the day - barely anything, a subtle smokey eye or barely anything with a bold lip. Pretty much. This post is the subtle smokey eye which I wear more often than not...

Powders I Love
I am usually the absolute worst with powders. For a long time in my youth I enjoyed the Rimmel 'Clear Complexion' powder for setting foundation and the like - then suddenly things started to cake up or in worst case scenario - dreaded product 'rubbings.' I tried different methods of applying and different powders that my teenage pocket could afford. In the end I gave up, thinking that my dry skin and powder just couldn't get along anymore...

Summer Top 5 | Lips
Carrying on from this post, where I ramble about my favourite summer nail polishes - it's time to follow up with what I've been reaching for the most for pretty summer lips...

June Favourites
The fact I took a little while away from most social media platforms for about ten days means that when I've come back refreshed and bushy-tailed, I couldn't believe the fact June was nearly done. I mean, seriously?

Beauty Bag | May
'Tis the beginning of yet another month (I feel the need to say, 2014, why you go so fast?) so another Beauty Bag edit is upon me. I have to say I've really been enjoying switching every thing up, it really makes sure everything in my collection (whether new or old...) is getting used. Win.

Revlon Highlighting Palette | Bronze Glow
It's not often I listen to hype about powder products from the blogosphere. My dry skin hates powder most days and it's why I skip powder blushers in favour of cream (that stay cream,) stain and gel formulations...

Revlon Nail Enamel Gold Goddess | Rio Rush
Moving on from Wednesdays post, the last 'piece' I picked up from the Revlon 'Rio Rush' collection was their new nail enamel in 'Gold Goddess.' If you're looking for a gold leaf effect polish? Look no further..

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick Kiss Me Coral | Rio Rush
Before I went flitting off to Spain I had made a standard pilgrimage to Boots to pick up last minute essentials (more on that in another post soon...) but I had spied the new Rio Rush collection from Revlon and pledged to have a proper look once I returned. I've always enjoyed Revlon's summer collections - especially the nail/lip offerings so once I did return and swatched my heart out... Things gone got bought.

It's near the end of another month so we all know what that means; some monthly favourites! I've been enjoying mostly old favourites this January, but a new skincare item has crept it's way into my stocks and I think it's here to stay...

Revlon Matte Balm | Striking
It has been a long wait, you know. The Revlon 'Just Bitten' balms are some of my favourite lip crayons, ever. So when it was announced that there were to be two more variations, one of them matte... well let me just say, it set my beauty-loving heart a flutter. My first dip into the waters comes in the shade 'Striking' - an unoffensive bright red, but perfect for road testing the formulation of the new release...

Nails | Autumn/Winter
There is nothing I love more than (anally) organizing my nail polish collection on the best of days; factor in new seasons and then I'm a goner for at least an hour with my ikea storage. This year, I couldn't narrow it down to five - some aren't easily available anymore, some I've found ridiculously cheap online (but still great quality,) and so without further ado, my personal choice of seven Autumn/Winter ready nail polishes...

Haulin' | Boots
Heh.
What can I say? One minute you're casually browsing the internet and then this happens. There is only one saving grace to this haul and that is; these were all on offer. Whew.
For my face I picked up two products that I have high hopes for - one has been blogged about by everyone and their cat/dog. The Dr Jart Waterfuse BB Cream was half price when I bought this - so only £9 - need I say anymore? The coverage is light to cover blemishes but to still let your skin through - aka, no mask like tendencies with this bad boy and I cannot wait to try it out on warmer days (that are hopefully coming...)
I also wanted to try the No7 Essentially Natural foundation that boasts a light/medium coverage for all skin types with an 25 SPF, so no night time wear if you're taking photos but it looks to be promising and a similar consistency to that of the Dr Jart. This was part of the buy one get one half price offer across a selected line so to go with this I picked up the Revlon Colour Stay Ultimate Suede lipstick in Finale. First thoughts - creamy, long lasting and a beautiful shade of hot pink/red that looks a dream on - winner, I say!
A bit boring but I also picked up a tanning mitt - an essential for this time of year but this St Tropez one had £1.50 off. I haven't tested it out yet but I'm hoping it can save me from dreaded orange fingers.
Lastly the other two combinations I bought were the Bourjois Bronzing Primer - apparently it's useless as a primer but is a pretty good dupe to the Chanel Soleil Tan Bronzer - both of these products look hellish scary in their respective pans but I am intrigued to see how this one works out. With this I also picked up the Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Nude Delight - again, this looks like it wasn't going to be a good match for me but once applied it definitely has more pink/peach in it - and doesn't look that brown once swatched + applied...
Overall? I'm going to hide by card now and hibernate for a few weeks I think but I am pretty pleased with the offers/deals I got!
Had an good deals recently?
Peace!

Review | Revlon Nearly Naked
Revlon Nearly Naked in Shell, available at Boots and Superdrug.
Another product making its rounds on the blogosphere at the moment is this light/medium coverage foundation - Nearly Naked by Revlon. It's been compared to that of Nars Sheer Glow and a few tinted moisturizers on the market, like Laura Mercier.
Let's take a moment to congratulate Revlon for knocking out some corking products recently, yes? Okay! On with the review...
For me, Shell was the perfect shade - enough yellow pigments to tone down my redness - definitely a 'your skin, but better' product - it sinks in beautifully and doesn't leave me wanting to claw off my own face - which means it's already won with me.
I use the Real Techniques Expert Brush with this - and I have tried it with the buffing brush too - both give good coverage with this foundation but what I will say is that I still love using a sponge with my foundations - even if it's just after I've buffed it in with a brush. I think that's due to my pores rather than the brush/foundation I am using - I sometimes find any brush I use will sometimes miss product - so I just go over that missed area with a slightly damp beauty sponge.
The only gripe with this product is of course the lack of pump - I think that it's something that Revlon should of included - so people don't waste product. There is the feeling of it being a maybe a bit try-hard because of this - Nars doesn't come with a pump either...
I find the best thing to do in this instance is to pour the tiniest amount out, work it all over my face and then see if I need any more in the 'red zone' - usually cheeks. Rather than going gung-ho and pouring way too much. If you can get over it, like I already have, about there being a lack of pump - I think most should get along swimmingly with this product.
Personally this is going to be a staple for spring - it's light enough for when the weather (eventually) warms up but still enough coverage to not make me paranoid about the perma-redness I face.
Currently on offer in Boots and Superdrug. Superdrug have knocked £2 off making it only £6.99 and Boots have it for £8.99 but you can get the second Revlon product half price (maybe treat yourself to another lip stain or maybe even the powder product to go with this?)
Have you tried Nearly Naked? Thoughts please! :)
Peace!

Haul | Superdrug & Boots
So a little thing happened. I went into town to drop off my car at the garage and then thought "Oh, Superdrug has Original Source on offer, I'll pick some up..."
The face masks are Superdrugs own brand, currently on a 4 for 3 offer - who can say no? Original Source is only £1.13 at the moment, I picked up some more face wash and some cocoa butter lotion (I love this particular stuff and for under £2 I don't feel guilty when I slather it on,) and not to mention a cheeky Barry M nail varnish in Lychee.
This was my plan - only to pick up bottles of delicious Original Source. Then I got distracted by everything. The product I am most intrigued to try is of course the Wild Ombre kit from L'Oreal - I'll be putting this into action once my hair has been re-dyed. I have no idea what will happen to my ends in terms of colour, it very well may come out orange - but I am not worrying. It's only hair.
In boots I had only wanted some Hand Food and thought to go for the 3 for 2 offer. Of course I needed some more Heel Genius and picked up some Hand Maid sanitizing gel too. Then Toni and Guy are on offer - 3 products for £12... Oh god help me. Then you know, Revlon. BAM. In the basket.
What had been intended was a simple trip into town turned me into red-wrists. When you buy things, and then they weigh you down and give you red wrists. Red-Wrist Guilt I call it. ;)
What have you been splurging on this week?
Peace!
P.S, Thinking about doing some vlogging, yay or nay?
