NEOM | Inspiration & Contentment

If you follow me on instagram you would of seen that on a recent jaunt to TK Maxx I managed to pick up a couple of NEOM travel candles, in the scents Inspiration and Contentment. Having heard rave reviews from many bloggers, countless times, I figured it was about time that I see what the fuss was all about, especially as the brand has had a rather aesthetically pleasing spruce up.

Happy Monday Lovelies!

I'm just about to jet off to the doctors for a blood test - the ever glamorous life I lead, eh? So this weeks picks have a bit of luxury about them - I'm particularly lusting over the Le Labo perfume/oils in Fleur D'Oranger and Acne coin purse. One day - that perfect blue purse will be mine!

Finally managed to send away all the important documents for the next module in my Open University 'step' - I rang one of the advisers to discuss the next course and which would be best for me and I've made the decision to study a design course. I'm pretty excited about it!

My parents had an impromptu barbecue on the weekend because my niece and nephew were around which was insanely yummy. It's nearly the end of the school term for them, they are so excited for the summer holidays and I hope this good weather stays - for my sisters sanity and theirs!

I hope you all have an amazing week!

Peace!

Happy Monday Lovelies!

As I type this I feel like I am withering a way into a ball of orange hair and tattoos. Literally. I haven't had such contact with heat like this in years and oh good god there is NO BREEZE! I'd kill for a whisper of it. Seriously

This week will mostly be made up of iced coffees and fruit; new exercises with my back and some reading on a new course I'll be starting in October - not very exciting, but it sounds like bliss to me.

I cannot bear to look at that cushion cover. It's perfect, I mean, I can't deal with it. NEED! And that tray? Well damn.

We're supposed to be having some cloudier days here in Devon and I cannot wait. I love the sun (especially when there's a slight breeze,) - but I burn easy which makes me bitter to the folk who do tan easy! ;)

In any case I hope you have an amazing week and enjoy the sun while us Brits are lucky to have it - I'm just going to dunk my head in ice!

Peace!

Habitat Lovin'

It is no surprise I am a fan of interiors; my monday posts are a mash up of recently discovered items for home, fashion and beauty after all. .. and along with regular purchases of Marie Claire, Elle and the occasional Allure magazine - I usually throw in Elle Decoration, Living Etc and Ideal Home for good measure.

Habitat is a brand I've always had googly eyes over - the furniture and accessories just always nail it on the head for my particular style - I like mid-century/scandi style the most - and they just bring it.

My favourite things? The gorgeous filing cabinet above (I have A LOT of paperwork and this would be ideal, and it's easy on the eyes,) along with the console table has gone onto the wishlist/must-save-for-this for a future office space.

Let's not even involve the copper pendant, shall we? I DIE!

What's your favourite interiors brand?

Peace!

Hello lovelies!

I want all of these things. That chair also doubles as a single guest bed - and it's in grey. Swoon. And do not even get me started about the media unit in yellow! Goodness! Anyway, moving on...

I'll be frank. I am tired. Shattered. Knackered. Worn out. All of those and then some.

After working 10+ days in a row, yesterday was the hardest on my mind. I had to do an early shift and late shift. Oh the joys of shift work! I moan, of course, but I do enjoy working and I offered to do the work because, well, I like buying things. You sort of need money for that. I also like moaning. ;)

I now have a week off so I can take some time to evaluate our living space. We have a living room and a bedroom - but the living room is also like a dressing room too - with two wardrobes, a chest of drawers, a tv unit, a bookcase and a hamster... Kind of crowded at the moment.

I had an idea to get rid of one set of wardrobes, and change the dresser to two tall but slim dressers I think maybe these from Ikea - so we still had our own area for clothes and the remaining wardrobe could be used for dresses/stuff that shouldn't be folded/shoved into drawers. We need the space for a desk (eventually,) for the boyfriends mac, plus it would make us feel less crowded.

So - the extra hours at work were needed, I need the pennies to fund this project. I also want to upholster our footstool but that can wait until April - when my parents return from Spain, well rested. Then I can pounce and use my mothers seamstress skills to the full!

Sorry for the ramble but isn't it nice to get it all out? Right, I'm off to get the polish and duster... ;)

Have an awesome week!

Peace!

Happy Monday Lovelies!

I have insane week planned, I have some important shizzzz to do today (please wish me luck!) and just lots of work in general for the coming two weeks (boo!) and trying to squeeze in uni work too (yay?)

But a busy week means less time to my own devices, which usually means me being bored. Not a great thing.

Any amazing plans for the week ahead?

Peace!

november wishes part three - quick fixes for the home...

1//2//3//4//5

Okay, so I work part time. I haven't always but I'll be honest; I haven't had that job where it's not a job because you love it so damn much... so working full time... isn't full time, you know? Sure, sure, I have worked full time - had to travel for those hours and that money and have been so completely unhappy/stressed that I would downsize my hours...

My point? There is one. Perhaps you're a student reading this. Perhaps like myself you are in limbo... in  that odd state just before you move out of the family home. You're in that stage. Money is hellish tight but you want things to be yours. Rightly so! So quick fixes/cheap purchases to make student OR limbo life a little brighter...

1. Pack of two storage boxes, PINGLA. Ikea. £3. These boxes come in blue/white, red/white or black/kraft brown. I bought two sets (so four, duh!) of the blue/white to go into my bookcase whilst in 'limbo' - to tidy my bookcase but also readying myself into last minute packing. I'm trying this organizing thing here. :)
2. H&M Laundry Bag. £12.99. It comes in black or white, I prefer the white one - and it's just a neat bag to sort out all that dirty laundry whilst being sturdy at the same time and without being too fussy. Score!
3. H&M Print Curtain Panel, Books. £12.99. I think this is really cute, especially if you only have a dinky window and merely need one panel to work with. It also comes with hemming tape, because it is a floor length curtain. So you can easily snip off excess, hem it up, then make a pillow with the scraps!
4. Dutch Stool, Urban Outfitters. £25. Bit steep for cardboard but it is an online exclusive so they tend to be more. But it is so cute and could provide a talking point if you're just starting out in a new area. Win win.
5. Elephant rug, Urban Outfitters, £12. Once again, cute factor. However rugs can be used obviously for different reasons. Area rugs. Warmth for cold mornings. Covering up dodgy stains from previous tenants. You just never know!

Any relatively cheap fixes you want to share?

Peace!

god bless ikea...

Have you seen how ridiculously cute this day bed is? It's from Ikea's 'Hemnes' bedroom range and I only just found it which makes me sad, yet pleased at the same time.

It's a sofa, single bed AND double, along with storage underneath. Stupid useful, yes?

It comes in white (pictured, from their website aqui,) and also black.

Peace!

inspirational [musical] women - part two

Siouxsie Sioux [and the Banshees]

Such a strong woman in music! One of my best friends pierced my ears with a sewing needle to the tune of eve white/eve black and I've been hooked ever since!

AND that make-up! lush!
