H&M Haul | Homeware & Clothing Pieces

I have a lot of love for H&M - mostly from in my 'youth' buying stuff from their Divided range (oh yes, emo hoodies..) but as of late (about two years ago) I started venturing on line to take a peak at their Home-wares - and I've been hooked since. They have some amazing textile pieces on offer but also great storage items and the everyday pieces like towels, tea towels etc.

Not to mention I am hooked on their Best Basics range - the V neck tee (the grey pictured above) and their 'slub' style tees are perfect for everyday dressing up or down - not to mention the price and how they wear quite well. Amazing. I always tend to buy one or two when I'm shopping for other bits 'cause you can never have enough neutral tees - plus this particular cut was in the sale for £3 - absolute bargain.

My recent 'splurge' was mainly for the jumper pictured above - I also picked one up in a dark grey and went for a size larger than I usually do - namely because they are of a fine knit so no risk of looking any plumper than usual, but mainly because I like layering during the winter - as opposed to wearing thick chunky jumpers - these are super soft and just so so flattering. In love!

Two purchases were cushion covers - the crazy looking cat cushion cover reminded me of Grumpy Cat (seriously, I want that cat!) and also fitted in well with neutral throw - plus the grey and white striped cushion matches my curtains. The cat cushion was on sale for £1.99 (and still is,) whilst the striped cushion is only £3.99 - I'll be picking up another one of those bad boys!

Last but not least was a little gold skull tea light holder that I'm currently using beside my bed as a little hold-everything container - namely hand cream and hair ties, which is just under £2.

There are so many little gems on there - I'm after the copper candle holders - so beautiful - and some more cushion covers... as if I haven't got enough...

Have you bought anything from the H&M home-wares section recently?

Peace!

Happy Monday Lovelies!

This week as mentioned in Saturdays post I'll be leading my ever-exciting life and tryin' to crack (haha,) down on this back pain/issue I have been having. I won't lie to you, I've been super, super anxious about not working - I don't have an amazing job by any means, it's very low rung as the case may be but it's still a job - even if it is only part time. Does anyone else get like that if they've been off work for a long time? Let me know in the comments.

Hang on though, because it's Monday and I don't particularly want to start off on a glum note - so look at some of these pretty (necessary,) pieces! I'm in love with the bunny box storage (swoon,) and the bag (of course,) but the trainers are just thrown in because I need an everyday plimsoll/hightop because my current ones are ruined. Ain't nobody got time for holes in soles in Devon weather, let me assure you that!

I hope you have an amazing week and do let me know if you're doing anything exciting (so I can live vicariously through you, haha!)

Peace!

Little Room | Interior Updates

I ain't the greatest photographer at the best of times but when it comes to trying to shoot interior posts in a dinky bedroom = I suck. I thought that I'd just show some progress that has been made so far (we only used to have a bed in here and one side table for Joshua,) but most notably we finally have matching side tables! Huzzah! I picked out the Trysil side table in white/grey purely just to keep the room nice and open.

There is still some things I'd like to add but I keep thinking to myself save that for when I move out - like the lamps, we prefer having touch lamps and these were the only decent ones that we could afford at the time that still fit in with the monochrome room. Of course the print above the bed would ideally be framed but for now it's just pinned up. I adore that print!

I can always switch up shades and what not but for the mean time I'm pretty happy with this room. It's all chilled - as opposed to my old bedrooms which were always way too busy which made it so much harder to switch off at night. There is no t.v in here and the only electrics that are allowed are mobiles and tablets - but I usually chuck mine in my drawer so I don't get distracted.

Have you got any interior projects you're working on at the moment?

Peace!

P.s, We've been very lucky this year, our honeysuckle and clematis climbers are doing very well - plus since we are having an odd bit of weather here in Devon (read; heatwave,) my parents dug out the parrots they bought back from Spain years ago. I think they brighten up the garden splendidly. :)

Finishing Touches...

I have been going on about the changes we've made recently to the rooms Josh and I currently 'own,' - a small bedroom and a living room/study/dressing room. We live at home, as to save money because a.) Josh is a student and b.) I work part time hours, with no guarantee I'll get more than 20 hours a week - so for the mean time whilst I am looking for a full time job - at home we are. We pay for rent and food, but obviously, family rates. ;)

The mission was to downsize (that mission was successful!) but more importantly the next mission is to try and tie things together. Hopefully - mostly in the 'living' space because it is mix & match as far as furniture goes. So, here is my shopping list in an attempt to bridge the gaps between my furniture... and I thought I'd share it with you!

1. Skull Pen Pot - Graham and Green. This for Josh's bedside table.
2. Ikea Cushion Covers. For the sofa, the ones we have now are old, dated and just don't work. I'll keep them for fabric scraps but it's in with the new, dahling!
3. Gold Leaf Tumbler - Zara Home. This is for my bedside table.
4.) Ã–DESTRÄD Duvet Cover - Ikea. It's white, which is essential but the orange is a welcome mix for the bedroom. Adore it.
5.) Fluor Notebook - Zara Home. I cannot lie, I love list making - I threw this one in for me. Plus, hot pink and gold (from the tumbler) - oh hell YES! It comes in a punchy green too.
6.) Black Vanilla Candle - Zara Home. Another one for me. Cheeky!
7.) Antique Finish Mirror Tray - Zara Home. This one is a big deal, I think. This is for the living room.
8.) Square Resin Turquoise Door Knob - Zara Home. Changing up the wardrobe and topbox. Just a little bit.
9.) Natural Throw - The Range. A bit boring, but this is nice and neutral for the sofa, not too white and not too cream. The grey throw will be venturing into the bedroom.

So that's my shopping list! I won't be buying this all in one go, the door knobs, skull pot and the gold tumbler will probably come first. Plus I shall have to save my pennies for the tray - but hopefully it shall transform the rooms - without changing anything too drastic.

Have you got anything decor wise to change & swap around at home?

Peace!

november wishes part three - quick fixes for the home...

1//2//3//4//5
images via ikea/h&m/urban outfitters

Okay, so I work part time. I haven't always but I'll be honest; I haven't had that job where it's not a job because you love it so damn much... so working full time... isn't full time, you know? Sure, sure, I have worked full time - had to travel for those hours and that money and have been so completely unhappy/stressed that I would downsize my hours...

My point? There is one. Perhaps you're a student reading this. Perhaps like myself you are in limbo... in  that odd state just before you move out of the family home. You're in that stage. Money is hellish tight but you want things to be yours. Rightly so! So quick fixes/cheap purchases to make student OR limbo life a little brighter...

1. Pack of two storage boxes, PINGLA. Ikea. £3. These boxes come in blue/white, red/white or black/kraft brown. I bought two sets (so four, duh!) of the blue/white to go into my bookcase whilst in 'limbo' - to tidy my bookcase but also readying myself into last minute packing. I'm trying this organizing thing here. :)
2. H&M Laundry Bag. £12.99. It comes in black or white, I prefer the white one - and it's just a neat bag to sort out all that dirty laundry whilst being sturdy at the same time and without being too fussy. Score!
3. H&M Print Curtain Panel, Books. £12.99. I think this is really cute, especially if you only have a dinky window and merely need one panel to work with. It also comes with hemming tape, because it is a floor length curtain. So you can easily snip off excess, hem it up, then make a pillow with the scraps!
4. Dutch Stool, Urban Outfitters. £25. Bit steep for cardboard but it is an online exclusive so they tend to be more. But it is so cute and could provide a talking point if you're just starting out in a new area. Win win.
5. Elephant rug, Urban Outfitters, £12. Once again, cute factor. However rugs can be used obviously for different reasons. Area rugs. Warmth for cold mornings. Covering up dodgy stains from previous tenants. You just never know!

Any relatively cheap fixes you want to share?

Peace!

god bless ikea...

Have you seen how ridiculously cute this day bed is? It's from Ikea's 'Hemnes' bedroom range and I only just found it which makes me sad, yet pleased at the same time.

It's a sofa, single bed AND double, along with storage underneath. Stupid useful, yes?

It comes in white (pictured, from their website aqui,) and also black.

Peace!

urban outfitters furniture...

images via urban outfitters.

It's not new to me and maybe when you come across this post - it won't be new to you either...

I love urban outfitters for their home accessories; they get some pretty good novelty items as well as some gorgeous soft furnishings (pretty rugs, cushions, etc..,)

A while ago though, they brought in furniture to their inventory and most of it is pretty cute. I especially like the turquoise side table (bottom picture,) and also the turquoise bookshelf - they come in other sweet colours too as well as the bog standard black and white.

They aren't badly priced either, the side table

What do you think of their new range? Indulged in any of these products? Would you?

Peace!

Necklace Storage

Happy Monday Lovelies!

Just a quick photo to show a sneak peak at my 'make up station' - I bought a pack of four self adhesive hooks from Morrisons (only 99p!) and stuck them in a reasonably neat row...

And voila, necklace storage!

I don't like shoving my necklaces in a box, because they always get tangled and I hate tangles so much - with ear phone/head phone wires but especially metal jewelry which never wants to get untangled - it just never seems to end!

These hooks come in a pack of four, in a chrome effect or white, obviously they are only plastic and self adhesive - so they aren't meant to carry heavy items - but a necklace or two won't hurt.

Any storage ideas that have organised your 'special' area?

Peace!

back to the norm...

Okay, first of all, hello! i've been at my boyfriends house for the past week whilst my room was being painted (oh so fresh white! so happy!) and i came back home on sunday to move all my furniture back into place and re-organize.

literally the most organized my room has ever been. it has to be said there is nothing better than a spring clean/purge to make a gal feel a bit better - or is it just me?

you may be wondering why i have a picture of a white ikea drawer unit today - well, hopefully towards the end of the week, along with some fresh white bedding (my very own white bedding, oh good lord i am so sad...) and a new bin (boring, but essential) i shall be constructing this with my fathers instruction!

which will then be followed by a cheeky vlog, a week or so later when it is all done. ;)

anyway, this week i'll be focusing on sorting the last bits out of my room (very minimal) crying over the lack of petrol in my poor car, and of course, blogging. relaxing week ahead, but it is only monday... so anything can change.

peace!

update #48578437539485 ;)

a picture taken before my vlog.

hey my lovelies! hope you had a smashing weekend whatever you were doing? i've spent it sorting out my room ready for later this week for when it will be painted (white) and while i will miss my solitary red wall, i'm looking forward to a fresh start!

for that reason, posts will obviously be sparing this week - apologies for that, but my room is so cluttered (thanks to all my bloody books and furniture) it needs to be sorted!

also update on my cbt therapy - i've had two sessions so far to gauge what kind of help i need to get better, and they have been great! i just have to wait for 'proper' therapy to start, but i already feel so much better knowing i'll be getting help!

what's your plan for the coming weeks?

peace!

i haz asos magazine...

If you happen to live under a shell, this is a very glorious Eames Eiffel thingy chair. And I adore them. But only adore the ones with wooden legs. I also only REALLY truly adore them if they are white, black or yellow.

This is number one and if Boyfriend has any sense he will win the lottery and buy me these chairs.

Here's lookin' at you kid.

UPDATE: What annoys me most about reading fashion magazines and blogs is that YES, somethings (trends) are different, but really it remains the same... FLORALS IN SPRING, HOW SURPRISING, AND OHMYGOSH... KNITWEAR?!? IN AUTUMN/WINTER? YOU'RE OUT OF YOUR MIND!!!
