Makeup Storage

One of my favourite posts/videos to peruse are makeup storage/collections. I think because I'm a huge nosy parker and also because it's great for getting ideas for your own space. Since my MALM dressing table is up and mostly filled with my stash I figured I'd let you guys in to how I'm storing it all. It's not quite finished yet to how I completely want it - but it might give you a few ideas in the mean time...

Little Room | Interior Updates

I ain't the greatest photographer at the best of times but when it comes to trying to shoot interior posts in a dinky bedroom = I suck. I thought that I'd just show some progress that has been made so far (we only used to have a bed in here and one side table for Joshua,) but most notably we finally have matching side tables! Huzzah! I picked out the Trysil side table in white/grey purely just to keep the room nice and open.

There is still some things I'd like to add but I keep thinking to myself save that for when I move out - like the lamps, we prefer having touch lamps and these were the only decent ones that we could afford at the time that still fit in with the monochrome room. Of course the print above the bed would ideally be framed but for now it's just pinned up. I adore that print!

I can always switch up shades and what not but for the mean time I'm pretty happy with this room. It's all chilled - as opposed to my old bedrooms which were always way too busy which made it so much harder to switch off at night. There is no t.v in here and the only electrics that are allowed are mobiles and tablets - but I usually chuck mine in my drawer so I don't get distracted.

Have you got any interior projects you're working on at the moment?

Peace!

P.s, We've been very lucky this year, our honeysuckle and clematis climbers are doing very well - plus since we are having an odd bit of weather here in Devon (read; heatwave,) my parents dug out the parrots they bought back from Spain years ago. I think they brighten up the garden splendidly. :)

Finishing Touches...

I have been going on about the changes we've made recently to the rooms Josh and I currently 'own,' - a small bedroom and a living room/study/dressing room. We live at home, as to save money because a.) Josh is a student and b.) I work part time hours, with no guarantee I'll get more than 20 hours a week - so for the mean time whilst I am looking for a full time job - at home we are. We pay for rent and food, but obviously, family rates. ;)

The mission was to downsize (that mission was successful!) but more importantly the next mission is to try and tie things together. Hopefully - mostly in the 'living' space because it is mix & match as far as furniture goes. So, here is my shopping list in an attempt to bridge the gaps between my furniture... and I thought I'd share it with you!

1. Skull Pen Pot - Graham and Green. This for Josh's bedside table.
2. Ikea Cushion Covers. For the sofa, the ones we have now are old, dated and just don't work. I'll keep them for fabric scraps but it's in with the new, dahling!
3. Gold Leaf Tumbler - Zara Home. This is for my bedside table.
4.) Ã–DESTRÄD Duvet Cover - Ikea. It's white, which is essential but the orange is a welcome mix for the bedroom. Adore it.
5.) Fluor Notebook - Zara Home. I cannot lie, I love list making - I threw this one in for me. Plus, hot pink and gold (from the tumbler) - oh hell YES! It comes in a punchy green too.
6.) Black Vanilla Candle - Zara Home. Another one for me. Cheeky!
7.) Antique Finish Mirror Tray - Zara Home. This one is a big deal, I think. This is for the living room.
8.) Square Resin Turquoise Door Knob - Zara Home. Changing up the wardrobe and topbox. Just a little bit.
9.) Natural Throw - The Range. A bit boring, but this is nice and neutral for the sofa, not too white and not too cream. The grey throw will be venturing into the bedroom.

So that's my shopping list! I won't be buying this all in one go, the door knobs, skull pot and the gold tumbler will probably come first. Plus I shall have to save my pennies for the tray - but hopefully it shall transform the rooms - without changing anything too drastic.

Have you got anything decor wise to change & swap around at home?

Peace!

Hello Lovelies!

Well, I now officially am on holiday for two weeks! Huzzah! I'm going to get organized as mentioned on my last post - I've managed to do what I planned - helping josh sort out his wardrobe, moving some storage boxes in order to make the display unit more of a display, some light polishing, changing the bed etc - now it's time to move onto my own side of things which could potentially take longer, not to mention a deep spring clean!

I am in love with these trousers from H&M - in fact this is all from H&M. I gotta say, they are my favourite for basics (tees) but I really just adore the extras, the home bits (that cushion would match my curtains!) and the nail varnish is apparently top notch! I think a tiny little spend on Thursday is in order - although I'm trying to cut back in order to save some imperative things - like new drawers as mentioned before. I am definitely buying two of these drawers in white - one for each of us - and then just having the one set of wardrobes... it'll make the room look so much better, plus there will be room for a desk! Huzzah!

So apart from going Rambo on the house - I'd also like to take at least one trip to the cinema and have one date night out - not too much to ask, right?

Have you got any holidays planned? Hopefully with more sunshine than mine!

Peace!

Happy Monday Lovelies!

It's back to work this week for me - which sucks as I've quite gotten used to sleeping... In any case I've got one last day of freedom (hooray!) so I'll be finishing filming with the Mr, trying to finish my essay which is super important (my god, why can't I write more than three paragraphs!) and later on a spot of babysitting.

Here are the usual six items that cheer me up this week - Monochrome was pretty on the runway but even prettier for your pockets now that it's on the high street. Topshop have good buys for this, not to mention the 'grunge' selection is quite good.

I've got some projects lined up for home in the next couple of months - if this goes completely wrong, I'm just looking at small white storage from Ikea as backup - more on this when I've actually done it!

Bioderma is now in the U.K! Hoorah! I'll be picking up a small bottle of Sensibio to try out - given the hype of these products I'm expecting a lot...

Last but not least - Ren Skincare, I'm intrigued by this clay cleanser/mask treatment promising to soothe skin (oh please redness, be gone!) but generally any excuse for a pampering session intrigues me...

Have an amazing start to the week!

Peace!

november wishes part three - quick fixes for the home...

Okay, so I work part time. I haven't always but I'll be honest; I haven't had that job where it's not a job because you love it so damn much... so working full time... isn't full time, you know? Sure, sure, I have worked full time - had to travel for those hours and that money and have been so completely unhappy/stressed that I would downsize my hours...

My point? There is one. Perhaps you're a student reading this. Perhaps like myself you are in limbo... in  that odd state just before you move out of the family home. You're in that stage. Money is hellish tight but you want things to be yours. Rightly so! So quick fixes/cheap purchases to make student OR limbo life a little brighter...

1. Pack of two storage boxes, PINGLA. Ikea. £3. These boxes come in blue/white, red/white or black/kraft brown. I bought two sets (so four, duh!) of the blue/white to go into my bookcase whilst in 'limbo' - to tidy my bookcase but also readying myself into last minute packing. I'm trying this organizing thing here. :)
2. H&M Laundry Bag. £12.99. It comes in black or white, I prefer the white one - and it's just a neat bag to sort out all that dirty laundry whilst being sturdy at the same time and without being too fussy. Score!
3. H&M Print Curtain Panel, Books. £12.99. I think this is really cute, especially if you only have a dinky window and merely need one panel to work with. It also comes with hemming tape, because it is a floor length curtain. So you can easily snip off excess, hem it up, then make a pillow with the scraps!
4. Dutch Stool, Urban Outfitters. £25. Bit steep for cardboard but it is an online exclusive so they tend to be more. But it is so cute and could provide a talking point if you're just starting out in a new area. Win win.
5. Elephant rug, Urban Outfitters, £12. Once again, cute factor. However rugs can be used obviously for different reasons. Area rugs. Warmth for cold mornings. Covering up dodgy stains from previous tenants. You just never know!

Any relatively cheap fixes you want to share?

Peace!

october wishes - part four - interiors...

Eventually my arrangements in the house are going to change. The Mr and I are swapping the big room for a 'little bedroom' - which will literally be bed, bedside cabinet and an ottoman - and there will still be plenty of room in there to move around.

Meanwhile my current bedroom, which is much larger will almost become like a dressing room/lounge/study.

It won't be the most glamorous of rooms - having drawn out the plans a billion times and still my inner interior designer weeps at them, but it will be functional and roomy until we can afford our own place.

That being said I've recently indulged in some new bedding, king size duvets to be precise, because a certain someone hogs the covers...

So now I'm just eyeing all the pretty bedlinen (I have a preference for white bedding,) everyone has on offer at the moment!

...and cute little alarm clocks!

Peace!

god bless ikea...

Have you seen how ridiculously cute this day bed is? It's from Ikea's 'Hemnes' bedroom range and I only just found it which makes me sad, yet pleased at the same time.

It's a sofa, single bed AND double, along with storage underneath. Stupid useful, yes?

It comes in white (pictured, from their website aqui,) and also black.

Peace!
