Happy Monday Lovelies!

I could not be happier for a new week to start; the last few weeks of being ill(er) have really taken its toll on my patience so much that I cannot wait for fresh opportunities that a new week brings...

Happy Monday Lovelies!

The next few weeks are gonna be pretty hectic - so bare with me, I'll still be posting but as and when - I do not know. But enough of that boring business, it's Monday - so let's look at some pretty things from around the web.

First up - those tapered 'jogger' style trousers from Topshop. I know it's coming in chilly now and I'll probably be firmly wrapped up in denim on my lower half for the foreseeable future - but these would be perfect for an impromptu warmer day (they happen,) or for an evening out. The camis that Topshop currently stock are so flattering and I kind of want one (or two) in every colour.

Whilst still planning my little project, it doesn't hurt at looking at some loveliness for home - in particular these black skull tie backs. Not to mention the tongue in cheek print - need it.

For beauty findings and lustings this week - I'm hankering after a matte top coat and this O.P.I one seems to fit the bill. My skins feeling a little congested in the usual areas at the moment so a powerful cleansing mask (or masque) should do the trick!

I won't be around on instagram if you follow me (you should,) on that - I'm currently waiting for the new nexus 7 to arrive at my door (I wasn't after a new one, but my Madre wanted my one... so what you gonna do, right?)so that means no instagram.

Here's hoping you have an amazing week ahead of you!

Peace!

Happy Monday Lovelies!

I very nearly forgot to write a post for today. We actually managed to have a barbecue on Saturday and Sunday so all were pretty sleepy and content after a very yummy weekend. At least we can't moan now, because we've had at least two summer barbecues!

I've had my beady eye on the Hugo Boss 'Jour' perfume, as I'm a huge fan of the 'Orange' range - and I signed up for one of the samples sent out by Boots. Oh my, it really didn't disappoint and I'll be purchasing a full size bottle when pennies allow!

A holiday actually seems possible for next year - I'm pretty blue about not being able to get away this year but it looks like ten days in May will be spent in Spain - hooray! It means plenty of time to lose a few lbs (probably gained in those barbecues...) and also plenty of time to lust over holiday wear... Most notably the leather holdall (for the plane,) from Top Shop and the Tiger crop top that could pretty much be used beach to bar if needed.

I don't have much planned for this week - apart from the usual back issues and waiting for physio to call me, anyway.

What are you planning for this week?

Peace!

Happy Monday lovelies!

I'm at work for three hours today (you might wonder, what's the point, but who am I to question the fabled 'shift gods'?) and then I can return home to purge the living room. The rug will be taken out and beaten by my Mother - who loves nothing more than beating rugs, apparently - the sofa moved - and the boxes behind it taken to the shed (Josh hates throwing away boxes of the items he's bought in case there is an issue later...) floors will be scrubbed, surfaces dusted.

Tuesday - the wardrobe top box will arrive and hopefully be built. Pretty dated in interior worlds but a necessary evil - soon the second wardrobe we have will be downstairs so we can actually have a desk for Josh's iMac - and it means my parents don't have to spend money on more furniture for Dad's new room (more on that later, if you're intrigued at all.)

On Wednesday it would be a dream if I could get all from Josh's wardrobe into mine - and the top box and the drawers so that I can finally place the order for the new drawers, and then the old set can once again go downstairs, following suit of the wardrobe it came with. Who's up for new ikea furniture and recycling furniture? Me, I suppose, 'cause I'm broke. :)

It would also be a dream that on the weekend I could get my brother-in-law and boyfriend to actually get the wardrobe downstairs. :) But it might take longer.

Anyway, who else is purging your homes for summer?

Peace!

How to Treat & Ease Cold & Flu.

Having previously mentioned I at least suffer from a major cold/flu bug twice a year - due to a poor immune system I'm pretty used to the protocol that follows. Sometimes it can't be helped, you may have an amazing immune system (like my boyfriend, jealous,) but can still catch a doozy bug. This is for all, a general ease and treat that I find helps (and having a cold now makes me sympathetic to my fellow sufferers...)

1. Drink your fluids! Keep a water filter jug near by if you have one, or just plenty of bottles so you don't have to move very far. Put ice in it, if you feel hot with fever - but drink up and drink more than you think you should. Your body will thank you for it. Brita Elemaris Water Filter Jug, 2.4L, £15.

2. Green tea is one of those magical things laden with health benefits - especially in building up your immune system (some say to gargle it, why not try both?) A hot drink is also beneficial for decongesting, so if you're not a fan of green tea, try some Manuka Honey and Lemon with hot water (and ginger, if you have any!) - if you have trouble sleeping, add a shot of whiskey in one before bed time - I won't tell, promise. Hugs Green Tea, Box of 10, £5.

3. Sounds painfully obvious, but keep tissues or a handkerchief to hand and blow your nose, often. I'm a pain for this because if I am in public, I hate blowing my nose - it's a random paranoia, in any case, don't sniff - and don't blow your nose too hard, gross as it is to be speaking about it, but you can get an earache by doing it too harshly. And who needs a ear ache when you already feel like death warmed up? Not me, so blow your nose gently. Pack of Two Handkerchiefs, £12.

4. Take your medication! I find this Lemsip All In One Capsules the best for the job - they have all the right stuff in those little tablets to try and ease your woes. Don't forget these already contain Paracetamol - so you won't need to take any, otherwise you risk overdosing. Which is never fun. If you're already on medication, I don't need to remind you about consulting your doctor about taking more medication, remember, I am not a doctor! Lemsip Max Day and Night Cold & Flu Relief, £3.99.

5. Rest and then rest some more. If you must go to work/school, then go to sleep earlier - but I'd recommend not going in. I know what it's like these days with employers and sickness - but if you go in and spread it round as it were, then more staff will fall like flies. If it helps try and organize with your boss to change shifts with someone - so the worse days you're able to rest up. Stay under a blanket and read some magazines, a book. Try and ignore your computer, it will just make your eyes water trying to. Cable Knit Throw, £40.

6. Eat lightly, like soup and yoghurt. I always find it more comforting anyway than heavy meals - a tin of Heinz or if you're lucky enough to have someone there to make you some, home made is best and much more comforting. Heinz Tomato Soup, available in most if not all supermarkets.

7. Have a bath, put in your most luxurious bath oils and relax, lavender helps for sleeping and rest obviously, but it's not necessary. I always find a bath helps wonders when you're ill - but if you don't have a bath, then a steamy hot shower will work just as well - especially for decongesting. Jo Malone Orange Blossom Bath Oil, £38.

So there it is, the seven tips I swear by when riddled with a cold or flu. I do hope if you are suffering like me, that you get better soon.

What are your tips for recovering from colds and flu?

Peace!

Well...

First of all, Happy Monday to you all! Secondly, an apology. I do believe this has been my longest absence so far, so I am sorry. Would you actually believe I am on my second cold/flu/bug thing within the same three weeks? How is that fair? Ha! I am not alone though, the boyfriend has also had two lots of it and now my work mates are going down like flies too. In any case the thought of looking at a screen has my eyes watering even now, hence the absence.

Obviously this week I'd like to shake this bug finally and be done with it - I almost always get ill twice a year pretty badly (winter flu, summer flu) so it never comes as a shock - my immune system is just crappy. I am still off on an adventure today though and it looks like promising weather, now if I can just find my camera charger...

Can I just say also - that bedding above? I DIE. I must have it in my life. God help me if they bring out one in black and white too. Oh geometry! I also will be buying that shelf too, once I get my pennies back - I had to pay ALOT of money on my car over these past two months, mot, service, repairs, insurance - and now I have zero savings. It's pretty crippling. My car isn't even worth that much in money - he's just a little run-around with zero fanciful buttons or whizzers like other modern cars. ;)

So yes, get better and try to not spend any more money. Eeep!

Have an amazing bank holiday, and see you on the flip side!

(If I don't get even iller... more ill?)

Peace!

Hello lovelies!

Apologies for the lack of posts - unfortunately my little hamster, Bear, passed away on Friday. She was nearly two years old, but had been ill for two days - with what we or the vets do not know, but they gave us some anti bio-tics and anti-inflammatory, not to mention a warning - hamsters go down hill pretty fast.

At this point she was still the same, bright and cheery although grumpy we had taken her out to the vets. We gave her medicine, she ate and drank as normal. Next day she was just sleeping, really 'floppy' if that makes any sense. So we just held her a lot and fed her water through a syringe with some honey in it for sugar, hoping she perk up. Sadly though, she passed and I've been miserable ever since. :/

So if the posts over the next week are few and far between, do excuse me - I've got a lot planned, still thankfully I am not working this week - but there is no rest for the wicked!

Have an amazing week!

Peace!

Happy Monday lovelies!

You know when you realise you have three days off over the next three weeks, and you just think, well damn? I am glad I can count on my loved ones (especially the mister for putting up with my mood swings,) to keep me sane.

That and pretty radios, fedora hats and sand timers in a bright blue...

No? Just me? That's cool!

Peace!

Home/Fashion/Beauty #1

Hello lovelies!

I hope you all managed to survive the new year, had merry fun and all that jazz. I managed to contract some lovely flu over Christmas, but I was completely fine for new years... we stayed in any way and had delicious fish cakes whilst watching the Sherlock series... But I digress.

I'm thinking of doing a regular weekly post on Mondays + Saturdays (my bloggeresolution?) so for Mondays feature... Fashion/Home/Beauty. Two from each category if you like, every Monday of items I've seen/lusted/drooled over and thought of sharing the love. ;)

So, yes, no, maybe? Let me know!

Winter Wishings...

I don't know what's wrong with me, but when everyone else wants to be doing the old red, green, white and 'fair isle' thing -- I just want to go to simpler tones. Dusty pink browns, whites and soft greys with some occasional hardness of black thrown in for good measure.

I just want to retreat into my bedroom with a book, a candle and nice big blanket.

Peace!

Gift Guide 2012 - Vol 3 - The Father

This little guide is for the most important man in your life. Your father. Now, fathers are hugely varied much like everyone else you know and love - remember these are ideas that would be approved by my fathers own tastes...

1. Cottage Delight Beer and Steak Set - £15. This set has got everything you need to treat your papa for a steak and beer night in. Possible father daughter date, if I am being soppy? Why not, it's Christmas!

2. Barbour Budle Check Scarf - £24.95. A classic for his winter wardrobe and you don't have to worry about him being cold either! Plus it will keep mother happy too, she'll probably steal it.

3. Tabac After Shave Lotion - 50ml - £9.99. This is one of my fathers favourites. A peppery, woody and spicy concoction for after shaving bliss.

4. Pure One Mi DAB Digital Radio - £27.99. Whilst pottering in their sheds/libraries/studies or kitchen, maybe even green house - let them plod around listening to their favourite shows on this radio.

5. Beatles Abbey Road Wash Bag - £25. My father adores rock music especially classics such as the Rolling Stones and The Beatles. This wash bag nods towards that love - whilst pleasing my mother so his wash stuff is organised.

Peace!
