Insta-Update

Since I don't do 'this week' style posts any more and that means I've been a bit lax on fitting in my instagram snaps anywhere on the blog; I know it's not to everyone's tastes - but you can always skip over them.

You can follow me here. There's loads of my animals and food. So there's that...

Five Favourites

It has been a literal age since I last posted a 'favourites' post of any sort. There is a particular reason - I've been using and loving the same stuff for ages...

Since my operation I have actually had a swell of confidence in going out bare-faced. What started out as "I literally look like death, feel like death and I'm definitely not applying any make up for going shopping - so if anyone questions me of my appearance I shall guilt them by saying I've just had major surgery, you ass," soon morphed into 'actually my skin looks pretty amazing, laters concealer!'

Give Yourself A Break...

I'm going to blame the school date system for this. Burn out. The slump. It's not quite spring, in fact it's still snowing. When can I buy pretty sandals and feel sane in the choice for doing so?

I've always felt September was the life-deciding month. Remember the days when your hardest choice was what new pencil case to choose from WHSmith?

Because I've noticed the pressure people put on themselves at the beginning of a new year. They become obsessed how this year is going to be 'the one.' Well, great. Make it happen, if you can. But you're only human. And March don't half feel like one massive hump day before Spring...

Life #2

I should and obviously can come up with a more creative title for these kinds of blog posts. But I'm rolling with this, that cool?

Life #1

I know I said I was taking a little break, a hiatus from blogging for a little while whilst I was waiting for my operation and then recovery - but I thought I'd share a few Christmas-y snippets from around the home...

Stationery Love

Is it just bloggers, or do we go on about stationery all the time? On a plus side it does keep me organized and recently I had a tiny splurge for some new notebooks for the coming months...

Life Lately

I'd apologise - but seriously, that view, right? I've had quite a lot of work to do (still, and I'll be doing some more after this too,) but I've also been helping the Mr with some filming. Helping where I can, anyway...

Open University | Thoughts Part Two

If you've managed to stick with me after the first part of this post, bravo, hopefully this will be a shorter post. This is my actual thoughts on the OU itself - so if you're interested, keep reading.

Open University | Thoughts Part One

I've paused the usual programming today to bring a requested post; so if you're not altogether interested by this, feel free to skip it. I'm going to do this in two parts - this one shall be how I got to the OU and the second shall be my actual thoughts on the system/courses I've taken so far...

As mentioned I've had a few requests to do a 'thoughts so far' post on the Open University and so here it is. I may ramble - so feel free to get a cuppa.

January | Notes

Another month ends and so another ramble begins; if you're not fond of these types of posts, I won't be insulted and normal service will resume tomorrow.

November | Notes

I just need to sit for a minute. Or three. Go get a tea, coffee, rum; whatever you're drinking. Let's just chill for a second. Normal programming will resume tomorrow...

July | Notes

I thought I would just kick back for today and chat about this month. I don't usually take the time to just sit and update properly - only throwing out partial bits of information here and there but it doesn't really feel all that personal to me - so hence this little note to everyone that reads and follows my blog.

My back has been 'off,' (which is putting it lightly, it hurts... a lot,) since May - I think, and there's nothing really new to report. I've had some blood tests and I'm awaiting the results if there are any, from that. I don't think there's anything underlying going on, I just think it's what the doctor labelled it as the first time I saw them 'mechanical back pain,' - but then again I am not a medical professional so what do I know? In any case, if anything happens I'll update here.

On a brighter note I've really been digging my skincare routine at the moment. My redness on my cheeks has been radically reduced and I think it has a lot to do with these products. One recommendation for sensitive skin gals like myself; the Botanics Ultra Calm Serum - give it a go and see if it works for you too.

I've also nearly finished with our bedroom - it needs touching up with paint in one corner where we had a mould problem which has thankfully now been rectified and I need to pick up some new bedding (something jazzy, but classic and I have my eye on something which is under twenty pounds, of good quality and for a kingsize bed - score!) I'll also be picking up one more of these for my dressing table area for more storage. I've also got some DIY plans for that area thanks to this post from Nouvelle Daily - specifically because of the paint used - it should make my life easier when it comes into play.

Hopefully around the October mark I can successfully report back to you on that! Speaking of October, I mentioned that I'll be starting my second module of my Open University education as I successfully passed my first module - I've gone with this course and could not be more excited!

I've finally found my perfect nude polish - praise Ciate for this concoction because it is totally beautiful for my skin tone. Not the greatest of accomplishments - but this is a beauty blog. It was worth mentioning. ;)

In terms of products I am in need of - this weekend bag is a classic and I need it in my life. Let's ignore the price tag. Another pricey item on my radar (it's always the same right?) is the new sunglasses from Ray Ban. I'd like a blue and yellow pair because why the hell not!

Blogs I have been loving recently, Rebecca from 'From Roses' takes the most beautiful photos and content that leaves me swooning. Another constant favourite is Sleep and Water. It's always a pleasure to read those two blogs.

What am I hoping for in August? More good weather, a better back and a new handbag. Not too much, right?

How was your July?

Peace!

Puppy Visits...

It's a very special thing when a puppy comes to visit. Meet Maddie everybody!

My dogs hate getting visits from other dogs - Tricks will 'smile' at new visitors of the animal variety and won't go near them unless they get to close to us. She's getting better, mind you. Scruffy is just scared of everything.

I think Trixie's gradual training is down to my sisters dog Poppy - my dogs couldn't stand it when she was around, it was mostly jealousy - they adore my sister!

Anyway, my parents friends have a new puppy and came around to show her off and as typical, I was out! Luckily Josh took some gorgeous photos so I didn't miss out...

Do you have a dog, or are you more of a cat person?

Peace!

instagram #18 - This Week

Oops. // Being a scary mary, showing off Essie Sunday Funday.
Wanda being a 'stealth' hamster.

I can't say a lot happened this week. I went to work as per the doctors orders, even though my back is still bad, only to be told that I couldn't be at work (health and safety, insurance, blah de blah...) - at least not until I can do all the things I'd usually do. So I'm still waiting for physio to get back to me but hopefully once that starts I'll be on the mend.

Even if I do keep hearing horror stories about physio. Eek.

I'd say my favourite posts from this week, are kind of cheating but, Louise from A Sprinkle of Glitter is doing a 30 day Snap Challenge - and I'm pretty intrigued into doing it! I always thought the 365 project too much for me, and the 52 week one I can see myself becoming bored or forgetting so - I think I may give this a go? Anyone else done them?

This weekend we are taking advantage of the mild/warm/sunny/occasionally humid weather and having a weekend barbecue. We did a small test run yesterday at lunch time (it was mainly for the builders who are building the extension,) and our new barbecue is a beast! If you're looking for a very well priced barbecue then seriously - ebay it up! I got ours here.

Have you got any exciting plans for the weekend?

Peace!
